Protest the Closure of Rady’s Center for Gender Affirming Care
Rady Children’s Hospital has announced the closure of its Center for Gender Affirming Care. As a result, all new and pending appointments for youth under the age of 18 will be canceled effective February 6, 2026. We have been told care will continue for patients 19 and older for the time being.
We know this news may feel sudden, upsetting, and devastating, and we are holding all of you with deep care as we all navigate what this means for our youth and families.
To make our commitment clear, we’re gathering our families and allies for a peaceful protest outside Rady Children’s Hospital on Saturday, January 24th from 11:00 AM–12:30 PM.

We were already traveling out of state from AZ due to Phoenix Children’s closing for the same reason just one year prior. We have no way to be there for this but I hope that the protest shows that our children deserve care.
